BARE IN MIND I AM A CHILD I WAS 14 I HAVE JUST TURNED 15!!!

This is the poem!

The light shined bright,
late in the night,
to check in and make sure we were alright,
Often waking up in a fright,
Hearing people fight,
And the alarms echoing throughout the day,
Walking down the corridor to get weighed,
I stayed to get better,
I was just fourteen,
Living in a unclean ward,
I was floored by staff,
They would laugh and use there phones to find my contact,
Managers telling me I was faking mental health,
Underage children allowed to vape on the ward,
Staff that snored and fell asleep,
Children attacking each other,
Phoning my mother late at night,
Hearing patients suffocate staff till they gagged,
I was dragged along the floor,
Staff were sacked,
I was trapped and not allowed to leave,
Stepping on glass in the corridor,
Children hiding meds and finding them scattered along the floor,
This place was a war,
It was not safe,
How the priory is still running I shall never know,
I still get shivers from the trauma that hospital left me,
I cannot believe it is a private hospital !

The daily support and encouragement I had when I was at my lowest point was amazing. They will not spoon feed you, as you also need to put in the effort too so do not think you are here for a rest. You are given the tools and life skills to make improvements in your life, to make each day count and to bring back positivity and reconnection in your life. I have never been happier or healthier and it is a journey that I am still on to become the best version of me.
