I’ve been at camhs since I was 11(I’m now 17) this place DESTROYED my mental health I was told that I was “being over dramatic” and that “there’s nothing wrong with you” after I confided in them about my self harm and feelings and they said that because my family member (who also went to CAMHS) didn’t visibly or physically experience an assault they’re younger sibling went though they and I quote “ can’t have PTSD since you didn’t see it and it didn’t happen to you” even though that family members was OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED BY A PRIVATE COUNCILLOR.if you really want your child to get better look up youth trust it’s just down the road and was the only thing that helped me.I’ve warned everyone I’m close with to NEVER go here because of how bad it is.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) on the Isle of Wight is underfunded and inadequate. During two visits, the mental health practitioner demonstrated a lack of competence and knowledge regarding Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated risk factors and comorbidities. Additionally, my daughter's records were lost. The service's threshold for providing assistance is notably high, limiting help to those who are actively self-harming or attempting suicide. As a result, we pursued a private assessment through PSICON, which provided the necessary treatment. The quality of mental health services for children on the Isle of Wight needs significant improvement.

Terrible little shack. The place of nightmares. Will not be sending my child back again. Had one appointment with them about potential dyslexia and was detained immediately within entering the room. They say she has delusional schizophrenia but this is clearly untrue because she has never told me she did. Still have not got her back from the hospital. WILL be taking legal action as I believe it's a front for child trafficking. Pray for my darling girl, Regina 🙏🙏😇😇😢😢😭😭

Very bad service that’s meant to help children with mental health issues we were spoken to very rudely to be told to wait that referral be looked at next week that was there anything else we put phone done with the way we got spoken to this service needs to be more caring towards family’s I’m not happy as our child needs help sooner rather than later keep being told we get phone call back and we don’t
