This was a 3-day yoga retreat run by Suzie in south west Scotland at the end of Jan 2025. Fab location, beautiful yoga space and great food which we prepared communally. Five lovely yoga sessions addressing different areas of the body or chakras - the yoga room looked out over the estuary and far out to sea. Free time to go walking and read and get to know everyone.

Liked: If you like wild like we do then this site IS wild. You enter a hidden away site over a stone bridge and realise you have an extraordinary view of the fells. Perfect if you manage to pick a good clear night for stargazing. Very welcoming and helpful. This is truly back to nature with compost toilets and a nifty mini fireplace on each pitch. Wood at extra cost. The beauty of the site can't be overstated!

Disliked: We'll return to this site as its so unique. The water wasn't working when we were there which could be an issue for some. Eg Nowhere to wash hands in loo area. Most pitches weren't mown so tents might find that an issue. But bags of potential to add a few more essentials.

Liked: Peaceful, beautiful scenery, small and secluded. Pleasant, friendly owner, lovely little stream. Very relaxing stay! Bonus of being very dark, got to see northern lights! Although composting toilets, these were very well looked after. Drinking water taps at both ends of site.

Disliked: A few wasps buzzing around, some parts were a bit boggy, some parts were hard to bash tent pegs in....but none of this was really an issue!

I've just returned from a magical Yoga Retreat in Scotland with Suzie at Wildscapes.
I came back home feeling relaxed, nourished, and inspired after spending a long weekend with an amazing group of women. The house and location were beautiful and peaceful. Everybody was catered for perfectly, and the food was delicious and plentiful. The pace of the retreat was perfectly balanced between daily yoga sessions, group activities and free time to relax and actually 'retreat'. Yoga sessions were varied, from relaxing restorative yin yoga, through to more energising vinyassa sessions. We also experienced a beautiful heart opening Cacao Ceremony. There was also plenty of time to socialise and build new connections.
The itinery for the retreat was well organised and yet flexible to people's needs. Suzie was always mindful of checking in with everyone to make sure we were comfortable and happy and she was open to everyones suggestions to ensure the sessions were tailored to what we needed.
Suzie holds space for each individual so beautifully and naturally. She is down-to-earth, good fun, kind and humble. She has an open heart and loves to learn from others as much as she imparts her own unique wisdom and healing to the people she works with.
I came away feeling completely at peace with myself emotionally and yet brimming with practical ideas of how I can sustain this feeling going forward for my own wellbeing.
I would highly recommend working with Suzie and attending any of her retreats, sessions or staying at her campsite. She put so much energy into this retreat and went above and beyond to make it special for everyone.
Thank you.

Liked: Campsite just as expected from description.
Fire pits are a great touch and plenty of them, we were greeted as soon as we arrived from a friendly host and we could buy a big bag of wood for the fire for £10.
Toilets were lovely and clean.
Kids loved having a little splash in the stream, overall we all had a great time!

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Thank you Susie for a great stay at your campsite.
The place is what camping should be; Mountain View and river with basic facilities - water to drink and toilets, respectful campers and friendly and helpful hosts.
Susie took the time to come over to the site every so often to see we were all ok. Her dad kindly brought his tractor to the site to recharge a campers car battery.
The spot feels remote but is well connected to the main Ravenstonedale road.
Perfect and great value.

Beautiful weekend last weekend wild camping here!
Suzie and her Dad are lovely and very welcoming.
Our car ran out of battery and her Dad came down with his tractor and helped us.
Very much appreciated.
Toilets were clean, site was chilled.
Absolutely over the moon that they provide fire pits and sell big bags of wood.

Thank you for having us 🥰

Liked: We enjoyed the wilder side to the campsite. There were no frills, it was rustic and simple. No showers but composting toilets and a dish washing area (cold water only). Fire pits and firewood (£10/big bag). Track to the field is grand but be careful in smaller vehicles on a wet day. You can always park near the toilet block and have a short walk to your pitch. 4G coverage.
