Doctors are lovely and willing to help however they can. The absolute worse part is the dispensary, they have a can’t be asked attitude. They are willing to put people in danger with not chasing up medications. Don’t bother if your ill with this lot, they will be to interested in there cup of tea and gossip.

I have had such a positive experience at this practise that I think should be celebrated when everyone else just moans. Yes you have to wait in a queue in the morning on the phone because of the volume of calls, but when they answer they are so helpful and nice and get you what you need. I’ve had a couple of urgent things that need chasing that the staff take time out to sort, and always call you back with a cheery voice. Thanks to all there

I can only speak about the nurses as I have been seeing them twice a week for 6 weeks for wound dressing and they have been lovely, friendly and a joy to see.
Hollie in particular is great

I saw Dr Iqbal for an evening appointment for the first time and was blown away. He was friendly, professional, genuinely empathetic and clearly values patient care. He took the time to explain in simple terms that I could easily understand, and made me feel at ease during the appointment. It’s refreshing to find a doctor who is so passionate about his job, even so late in the day when everyone is worn down. He is a real asset to the practice.

I feel fortunate to have these brilliant female doctors available to me, even if majority of the consultations are held over the phone, initially due to the pandemic and now due to the resulting backlog. I have seen Dr Smith, Dr Leighton and Dr Luff...all are exceptional at understanding, listening and taking the necessary steps to investigate.
Yes, there are issues getting appointments and through on the phone to the practice however, it would be unfair to mark them down for that, especially with the NHS being underfunded and so busy with the backlogs. I have resorted to emailing as I find it much easier than holding on the phone, and they usually respond within 24 hours. Reception staff can be, at times, abrupt but I put that down to work pressure...we've all been there.
Been with this practice for 9 years now and have always found them to be caring. Thanks for the support!

First off, this is not a grievance against the staff members, they are working hard to keep the surgery afloat and are generally lovely....but...

Since Granta took over this practice, the service and systems have just fallen off a cliff, if you're case is 'non-urgent' don't bother contacting or wait until it is urgent, at the time of writing, I've been trying to get a doctor's appointment for 14 days...now I'm sorry, but that's simply not acceptable.

12/02/2024 - Call (which lasted 45 minutes!), my doctor isn't available, so get offered a link to book an appointment, updated at 08:00 and 14:00 daily, had been checking daily with no appointments, finally get one for 26/02/2024.

26/02/2024 - Go to check in 'sorry sir, we have no record of your booking, are you sure you clicked book appointment?' Like wow anyway... So, have to get yet another link and attempt to select another day.

02/03/2024 - Beyond Granta's control my phone broke, so obviously have no access to the link.

07/03/2024 - Finally with a working phone I make contact again. Some 33 calls and 31 minutes later I get through and placed on the duty doctor's call list, historically I've never known this to occur within 3 hours and have to attend a meeting.
Yes, you guessed it, I missed the phone call, so phone up again to make my apologies.

After being scolded like a child for missing the call, I get put onto the doctor's afternoon call list...we'll see how that one goes...

I (like I'm sure many people in the local area) have been registered to this doctor's surgery for a very long time.
There are a few things that people have come to appreciate from this surgery.

1. A regular doctor.
2. A regular surgery.
3. The ability to book a doctor's appointment regardless of priority.

All 3 are now gone... and Granta, just because your working practices have changed, doesn't mean other people's have.

The Health Centre is very efficient. I got an under an hour follow up phone call from a paramedic, I had an online meeting with a doctor, a nearly immediate blood test appointment.
A great experience with the surgery so far!
