Before my sessions with Nicholas Handoll I’d had pain almost daily for months and had scans which didn’t show up anything. Nicholas seemed to home in on the problem and after a couple of treatments and some excellent advice, things started to turn around. I’d recommend him to anyone and believe that if I hadn’t come here I’d be in the same state still. He has deep knowledge and experience, inspires confidence and also helps you to heal yourself.

Brilliant to find someone who actually makes a difference. My two year old son had one arm that didn't move at all when he walked/ran, but after treatment with Nicholas Handoll it moved freely and normally. Everyone else said there was nothing that could be done but Mr Handoll helped and sorted it. It turned out that it was due to getting stuck during birth which lead to an emergency C-section, but as this was so long ago I hadn't thought about it. Thank you so much.

My son Maxwell has been seeing Nicholas Handoll regularly since he was 12 weeks old and we have seen first hand the benefits of Osteopathy.

Maxwell was born with Trisomy 21, more commonly known as Down Syndrome. Typically children with T21 have smaller than average heads with a flat back. Their facial features often include eyes that slant upwards, a small nose and a small mouth with a protruding tongue. Due to the over expression of the 21st gene they have low immunity and this coupled with small Eustachian tubes means they frequently suffer with colds and respiratory infections, glue ear and ear infections.

When we first saw Mr Handoll Maxwell had Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) which meant he would regularly stop breathing when he was asleep. He also had constant catarrh, his chest was very rattly and his nose was blocked so he was permanently breathing through his mouth.

As well as treating Maxwell, Mr Handoll explained the anatomy of the head to us and the importance of tongue position for breathing, teeth and speech development. He also helped us come to an informed decision regarding an adenoidectomy which Maxwell had when he was 18 months old.

Maxwell no longer stops breathing when he sleeps and he breathes predominantly through his nose. He has significantly fewer colds and has been able to recover from a bout of glue ear without the need for further intervention. So far he has been free from ear infections and has only had one round of antibiotics for a chest infection - for me it was no coincidence that this was at a time where circumstances meant we couldn't see Mr Handoll for 6 weeks.

Maxwell's head shape has also changed hugely over the last 2 years and is much more rounded than is usual for children with Down Syndrome. It has also grown exponentially - when we first saw Mr Handoll at 3 months Maxwell's head circumference was 39.4cm (on the 25th percentile of the growth chart). At one year it was 45.5cm (closer to the 50th percentile) and at 2 years old it is 49.2cm - on the 75th percentile!

I cannot thank Mr Handoll enough for everything he has done for our son, we have all been hugely impressed with his knowledge and expertise. The support and understanding he has given us with regards to Maxwell's development has been amazing.

I am sad that there are people who have not discovered the benefits of osteopathy; and sadder still that some try to undermine the use of those benefits to the detriment of those of us who depend on them.

As a very active person whose spine was damaged 30 odd years ago, I would have been inactive and in considerable constant pain had I not had osteopaths to run to. There is no doubt at all about that.

Whoever you are who doesn't approve, fair enough; but keep your damaging ideas to yourself.
