Mindfulness is key to being your best self and achieving your potential. I have known and believed this for a long time. Learning the practice and establishing the habit was always elusive in my busy world, so I worked with Penny to make a breakthrough. It was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Penny is an outstanding mindfulness teacher; very experienced, incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic and compassionate, and great fun! Working regularly with Penny was game-changing and made learning and maintaining a mindfulness practice easy. My new habit resulted in greater self-awareness, a better ability to ride life's ups and downs, and enhanced skills in maintaining perspective when facing significant challenges. I highly recommend Penny Metcalf Mindfullness. I joined Penny for her six week on line course during lockdown 2020. It has been a game changer for me. Having completed the course, I feel happier and calmer than I have felt in years.
Penny provided a bespoke weekly service via Zoom. As a medical professional, I was instantly comfortable with her evidence-based approach. Penny’s soothing voice and relatable manner made me feel very relaxed.
I found the accessibility of this course most appealing. Penny was able to offer me times and a programme which suited by needs perfectly. This was I stark contrast to the sparse availability of local courses which did not fit with work and family commitments.
Penny’s course follows the validated curriculum from the Oxford Mindfullness Centre. The pre-course reading, “Finding peace in a frantic world” by Prof. Mark Williams and Dr. Danny Penman, enabled me to prepare for the course and to reinforce my learning after each session.
Between sessions, Penny was available for valued feedback and support. Penny provided also a complimentary “gratitude journal”, which I found to be an invaluable tool. Additionally, I was able to access her lovely mindfulness meditations on Soundcloud for free. Penny’s voice has an incredibly calming quality. I continue to enjoy these meditations as part of my regular mindfulness practice.
Overall this was an outstanding course. Superb value for money. I am confident that these skills will remain core to self-care as I continue to negotiate the demands of family life with a busy medical career. Thank you to Penny Metcalf Mindfullness.

I took part in a group mindfulness session with Penny with the aim of learning how to improve focus and reduces stress. It started well, as there was not a mention of ‘woo’, instead, there was chocolate – a distinct improvement! I learnt the basics of training my brain to notice what is really going on, being able to ‘take a step back’, then choose how to move onward as a positive action. I would really recommend contacting her, especially if you are finding everything a ‘bit too much’ at the moment.
