Everything about it has been a pretty miserable experience to be honest.

It take months of waiting to get the first assessment meeting and then a similar amount of time to get your first therapy appointment.

Leading up to the first set of appointments they scheduled a phone call interview with a careers advisor which they missed then amazingly had the expectation of me to chase them up about it.

I've gone from one week filling out a Patient form with a scale asking how often I think about killing myself on 1-10 and being told I needed more "advanced therapy"-

-To coming up on 6 months of no contact other than a 5min phone call and the promise of another one that has never happened.

So to sum it up; in total its been around a year since I started this process i was referred too and I have no idea where I stand. I'm not sure what I'm waiting on. I'm not sure what the next step is. How long its going to be. or what is happening.

Does anyone answer the phone here or? I’ve rang 3/4 times now. In Que position one and still no one’s answering the phone….. “talking therapies” more like talk to yourself

got the initial talk done about what I'm needing and told ill get a call in 2 weeks, 3 weeks later get a random call from a strange number then a text using my deadname saying i missed it, called up within half an hour of receiving the text and told ill get a call the next day, a week goes by and i email them to find out they closed the record and had no intent of calling back! and on top of it said my gp told them to use said deadname and that i would have to start the process all over!

Terrible! i went to self refer after being pointed the direction from my GP, i've been in a crisis situation for some time and i needed urgent support. i got zero from these people as they just had me waiting for weeks. I had to wait for long while to get an assessment, and i didnt get one until i pestered them for it. as soon as i got one i only to get a response "i need to talk to me supervisor about this we shall contact you shortly" i haven't heard back for weeks and even phoned up to request when will i hear back. I was told they will call me back on the day, they didn't call me back.

Was no help at all.. left guessing if your referral had been accepted and then was made to feel humiliated after discussing how you felt only to be push off to someone. If you want sign posting try single point of access instead! If this is the best on offer its not hard to understand why the UK as a mental health crisis

Referred here in February, had first appointment mid-July to assess the best course of action for my treatment. Had follow up phone call the next week to confirm.

Nothing further to this until October, however, whereby I was assessed exactly the same but by a different practitioner, who was totally unaware that I'd even had prior appointment. Once again had to go through an hour of all the things that I consider to be responsible for my depression.

Fast forward to November, whereby this happens for a THIRD TIME, (albeit in Cleethorpes this time), except this time the practitioner was exceptionally unprofessional. As well as contradicting everything the last two practitioners had agreed on, she also said several times that I was "uncooperative" and that she couldn't help me because I wasn't ready to be helped... Funny that I have been looking for help since February then, eh love? You'd think 9 months would be long enough to have come to terms with it for me. At least it only took her 3 minutes to realise what a waste of her time I was. Yes, literally three minutes into our session.
I ended up leaving 35 mins into our hour session in fact, in total hysteria. I've never walked out of therapy before (and boy, have I had a few experiences of it) but she was just so unkind and cold. To say I was there because of my own terrible self esteem was hilarious, considering how happy she was to place all the "blame" on me. She also wouldn't accept that I'm not agrophobic, which too is hilarious, considering how outgoing I am - I'm even heavily involved in a new, local project based on peer support... As in, getting out of my home to talk to other people.

All things considered, the fact that I've had three appointments over 9 months for the exact same thing, none of which with any communication / note sharing, etc. between colleagues was frustrating enough, but that final practitioner took the biscuit. I came away with a lower mood than I've had for months, started to even feel suicidal again and spent a full week trying to pick myself back up to where I was the hour before I saw her... And I'm still not there to be honest. Awful experience.

If anyone needs to visit Open Minds, please ask for a lady by the name of Joy. She's absolutely brilliant.. Her bed side manner is Excellent and she puts you at ease straight away. Joy doesn't Judge you. She's sees you for the person you really are. She's great at listening, she Empathises with you and allows you to take your time, if you need.
Joy is an Absolute STAR!! ACTUALLY.
I'm due to see her again on June, with my ongoing issues from my Abusive Childhood.

I'm honestly so done with being made to feel awful by so called 'professionals' worst place iv ever been. Horrible vibes, and uneducated rude staff. They lack empathy for others. If your looking for a diagnosis like I was, be prepared to be made to feel like your lying.
I poured my heart out to this woman because I'm desperate for a diagnosis for many reasons, for her to say 'iv typed all this up for nothing' just because I wasn't sure on having more sessions. All of that you typed down was things I'd never said to anyone else before. The cheek is unreal. DO BETTER!
