Our family will always be thankful for the care and dedication we received.

We truly believe that Dr. Roz and the entire team at Michael Sobell Hospice saved our mum’s life. Like many families, we were initially hesitant about taking her to a hospice due to the difficult associations that often come with it — but looking back, we are incredibly grateful we did.

From the moment she arrived, the team carried out a thorough review of all her medications and made immediate, effective changes. While there were some initial issues, particularly around timely medication orders, the doctors did everything they could to resolve them. They never dismissed our concerns — if something wasn’t clear, they took the time to research and find a solution.

Communication was excellent. Every question we had as a family was answered with patience and care. The team kept us informed, reassured us throughout and made sure we felt supported.

When our palliative doctor had given up, it was Michael Sobell Hospice that kept going. Their dedication, compassion and commitment gave us hope when we needed it most. We can’t speak for every hospice, but this one was truly outstanding. If we’re ever in need again, we won’t hesitate.

From the bottom of our hearts – thank you to everyone at Michael Sobell Hospice.

I have had a really bad experience with this Hospice’s Charity book shop at Amersham high street every Tuesday. It seems they call themselves a charity shop but they have agenda to make as much money possible by forcing people into n the name of charity. They call it as a charity shop but sadly the man called David who manages that shop is quite rude and forces the amount of charity to be paid if you buy books from there. He expects people to pay as much price for the books as you would for brand new book sets!! I used to be a very regular customer of that shop but David‘s attitude of forcing and pushing people to pay more for the books than what they would like as a charity comes across greedy and very unpleasant. I once even discussed with him that the money he is asking is the amount one would pay for a new set and he said ‘he does not care’ . One of my other know local had same experience with him. I will certainly never visit that shop and would not recommend. David needs to understand that such forcing attitude behind name of charity so bad and ruins the name of whole hospice. The Hospice should look in to it and correct David’s attitude or else should stop calling it charity shop.

My Dad was in here for 3 weeks before he passed. Nothing but positive things to say, lovely place, caring, friendly staff, wonderful food. Thank you for everything and making his last days enjoyable, rather than just bearable.

I have been here a few times. I have motor neuron disease and get sick often. I love it there, the staff are all friendly and efficient. The doctors take good care of you and make you well again. I would recommend to anyone. I find the care superior to anything I have experienced.

Disappointing visit to this shop. Despite the shop being open it looked closed from the outside as the shutters were not fully open and the shop lights were very low. The shop looks tired and uninspiring. What a pity as the charity does fantastic work and could no doubt do with all the money it can get. Maybe the manager Maria could go to other charity shops for some inspiration and learn a few lessons on how you can keep customers interested in coming back.

Appalling. Staff get away with all sorts behind closed doors on an ongoing basis. Numerous families are hugely upset by lack of care. Some staff are verbally abusive and nothing short of downright cruel and spiteful in their comments. Certain nurses have lied on my relatives drug chart by claiming they administered drugs when they MOST certainly did not. The sister nurse has refused to give our relative their cancer medication WITHOUT EVEN ASKING the patient or relatives what we feel. NO mental stimulation provided. Palliative care patients are written off. Those more able are given lots of attention. Waiting for BASIC repeat medication for nearly 1 week now!!! This is set in beautiful grounds with cultivated gardens and an aviary, but hides an understaffed and cold environment inside this UNHOSPITABLE hospice
