We have been dealing with the planning department at the Melton Borough Council and can’t praise them enough for their help and support during our planning application. We were assigned a senior planning officer who dealt with our queries efficiently and helpfully throughout the process. After hearing nightmare stories from others going through the same process at the moment from other councils we feel we have been extremely lucky, and can’t thank the MBC and the planning officer enough for their help, support and excellent customer service.

Never go to Melton Mowbray for a day out or shopping. I parked in the Mucky Lane Car park next to the council offices and paid the parking, however a camera which picked us up driving in and then driving out and even though I paid the parking I got fined £60 and they wouldn't let me off even as I had run over a few minutes. I had a very good reason why I ran over a few minutes, but Premier Parking Limited are unfair and daylight robbers. They had the further cheek to charge extra admin fees. It was our first visit to Melton Mowbray and it will be my last if I can help it. If the council want to treat visitors in this way then I trust they rethink how they treat there visitors.

Called Melton Borough Council regarding garden waste. Just wanted to know why I was charged over £63 but my sister who lives in South Croxton was charged £40 for the same service. Was told that the Green Waste Club had nothing whatsoever to do with the council. I phoned a senior manager at The Green Waste Club who says the fees are set in agreement with the council!!! Who is telling the truth? Interestingly on entering the council offices there is a sign advertising The Green Waste Club. Why are the council advertising a private company if has nothing to do with them? I left my number so that a member of the council could answer my questions. Was assured that someone would call me. This never happened.
