It’s no wonder the only positive reviews are all old and/or written by staff or friends of staff.

Marwood used to be a fantastic home, brilliantly run, clean, friendly, welcoming, a real home from home. The residents came first, food was cooked fresh, butchers meat, freshly baked cakes every day, nothing was too much, the residents were treated like royalty.
Unfortunately this is no more.

It’s now meals on wheels, senior members of staff who talk to residents in a disgusting manner, families rushed to clear rooms just days after losing their loved ones, dementia residents made to stay in their room or sit in a chair all day with no freedom because the home isn’t dementia friendly (but they accept anyone because they only care about the money), I could go on but I won’t.

Such a shame because at one stage this is the only home I would’ve recommended, but I would actually advise anybody to avoid it now. A once beautiful, wonderfully run home, that has now been run into the ground.

My personal experience with this home was not great. Looking through the reviews on here I wonder how accurate they are, one of the names are that of a staff member.
The staff try their best but most are young and lack patience. The set up of the home means that residents remain in their rooms unattended for some time and very isolated or forced into a shared area where they play games and have their faces displayed across social media without their knowledge.
In the evening there are only 2 members of staff on and I was personally told on several occasions they were short staffed and didn't have time to do everything. When I was there in the evenings I would hear buzzers going on for hours.
My loved one had a fall and suffered a catastrophic bleed on the brain. His needs were far greater than the home could cope with and they shouldn't have let him be there. On my limited experience with homes, this has been the worse I have ever dealt with. The staff are nice but the management lack Leadership and skills to run a home. Too many residents and not enough staff. It only works if the resident doesn't require much attention and is happy to sit in the shared area every day.

The staff at Marwood are fantastic caring team, who work very hard to provide excellent care and always goes that extra mile for all the residents and there families. The home is always clean and inviting to all visitors . The residents are treated with dignity and respect all the time.

Having visited Marwood Residential Home in a professional capacity on a number of occasions, i have always been impressed with the professionalism of the staff.
Marwood always feels like it is a proper home to the residents and not an institution for the elderly.
Staff are always very friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for the residents.

Such a bright, airy place and visitors are always welcome. The staff are friendly and professional, treating residents with care and respect. Residents are encouraged to take part in a range of activities, including organised outings. It’s reassuring knowing my sister-in-law is safe, happy and well-cared for and she’s always raving about the food!
