Before I started working with Laura I was at a complete standstill in all areas of my life: both personal and professional. I would like to say it was as simple as not hitting my goals but I had gone so far as to have lost all vision of what those goals even were or could be. I was angry and demotivated at work and lack-lustre at home. I felt that I was working far too hard and making no progress. I was being looked over for promotion and sinking further into behaviours I did not like or recognise in myself. I knew something had to change. I had become interested in coaching as part of my job and it was recommended that I employed a coach for myself. This is when I met Laura. I knew, having interviewed a number of coaches, that Laura had the manner and presence that would fit well with my own personality and we hit it off straight away.

Laura and I started with exploring what my personal core values actually were. This helped me to see my wants, needs and strengths. She knew that finding my core values was essential to enable me to make intelligent choices that were going to work in my favour - finally! Laura seems to know how and when to ask the right questions - not the easy ones - in a way that felt compassionate, supportive and intuitive. She helped me replace anger with curiosity, demotivation with plans and action. Laura's coaching programme has given me a vision and enthusiasm that I would not have been able to acheive before our sessions.

I now have a better understanding of myself, a professional online presence, a new job, a great promotion, a passion for learning and doing new things and an inner joy that can only come from doing this kind of work with a fantastic coach. I reached out to a couple of career coaches and took some time to understand their processes and whether we'd compatible for a coaching relationship. Needless to say I approached Laura to be my coach and haven't looked back! Although I think term career coach is too narrow, as you touch upon life outside work as you go through this journey.

We had a mix of face to face meetings and virtual meetings. They were always relaxed and conversation flowed, and the questions posed were always thought provoking.

I wasn't sure what the outcome would be, as I'd never gone through a process like this before. What it has delivered for me, is clarity in what makes me tick, a strong understanding of what I'm really passionate about and how to get to the bottom of fears I had. Through this process I was able to park demons I had from a bad experience in an old job!

The outcome wasn't wholesale life changes such as a new job, but rather small important acts that really have changed my excitement for life. I've gone back to taking time to read, time to learn new facts and skills and I've also started to post regularly on LinkedIn putting myself out there as a though leader and driving myself out of the my comfort zone.
