Ignore all the 5 star reviews. They are either people who work there (as admitted in the review) or people who left no comment (bought reviews?) or people who've had one brief contact with Knightswick Clinic.

I've been dealing with them for a year, very closely, as I have a daughter with mental health problems currently under section.

There is probably no more useless organisation in the whole of the NHS. They have high staff turnover, nobody knows what they're doing and they go out of their way to avoid dealing with patients and with carers of those patients.

They even have a policy of "no emails". Seriously! If you're a regular patient with them and need to contact them several times a week, they expect you to print letters out and post them as they "don't do emails" (and don't answer the phone)!

If a patient is discharged from section (from a mental health hospital) and is being cared for at home, Knightswick is the central point of contact for all matters relating to that patient's care. The "care coordinator" is at Knightswick as is the psychiatrist who writes the regular prescriptions and others - therapists, psychologists etc who are all meant to be providing services to the patient - yet Knightswick won't correspond by email or phone.

"Send a written letter in" is their standard response.

But that's just a sample of how useless they are. Pretty much everything they do is tainted by an underlying thread of incompetence, nonchalance, avoidance, deceit, lies, coverups. There are a few individuals there who are maybe decent people but that this is not a review of individuals, it's about the organisation and the organisation is Pathetic with a capital "P".

I've unfortunately had occasion to progress multiple complaints against them and I have even met with senior most management at EPUT (Essex Partnership University Trust), their parent organisation, and recommended this place is shut down. The sooner they do it the better.

If you can avoid dealing with them, avoid it! If avoiding them means running around all of Canvey Island 10 times a day, do it. If avoiding them means cutting off your right arm, do it! You'll thank me later.

From the copy above they'll be able to work out who I am and I risk an even lower level of service in relation to my ill daughter but I figured that the service just cannot get any worse so what the hell - let me warn the rest of the world about this lot.
