This was once a very significant royal palace dating back to medieval times. It is reckoned that 8 different Kings visited the Palace with parliament even been held there. There isn't a great deal left to see but what there is is of great historical importance so credit should be given to all those who work hard on preserving what remains.

Would love to learn more about the history of the place. Not sure if it open for the public to go up and see but I just took a photo while walking along the cycle route just past the dog and duck pub.

Historical ruin. Built in the late 1100s it was King John's Palace and Hunting Lodge in the middle of Sherwood Forest.
It is situated on private land but there is access to it.
