I completed my Level 3 and Level 4 at Key Counselling Training Ltd, and I am absolutely thrilled with my experience! From the moment I enrolled, the staff provided exceptional support and guidance.

Minna, my tutor for Level 3, was simply incredible. Her knowledge, passion, and approachable teaching style made complex concepts accessible and engaging. She fostered a supportive learning environment that encouraged me to ask questions and think critically.

Transitioning to Level 4 with Sian was just as rewarding. Sian’s expertise and enthusiasm for counselling were infectious. She challenged us to deepen our understanding and apply what we learned in practical settings. Her constructive feedback and encouragement helped me build confidence in my counselling skills.

The training program struck a perfect balance between theory and practice, allowing me to develop a solid foundation for my future career. The resources and materials provided were excellent, and the small class sizes ensured personalised attention.

I am so happy with my experience at Key counselling, studying the Level 2 foundation in Counselling and the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling (fast track) with Caroline. Caroline was jolly, sweet, informative, knowledgable and helpful. She has a calming and welcoming yet upbeat presence and if, like me, one has nerves when having to practice counselling skills at first, she will certainly make sure you feel comfortable and have a lot less reason to be nervous.

If I was not physically so far away, I would certainly have loved to do the Level 4 Counselling Diploma with Key Counselling. They are thorough and this gives me confidence in myself with the skills I am learning and practicing.

Zoom with Caroline every Monday worked very well. The class sizes were small and friendly, with a diverse selection of fellow students.

I will miss my Monday morning counselling sessions with Caroline at Key Counselling.

I’ve recently completed a counselling course with Key and can honestly say that the level of education I have received comes second to none. My tutor was Sian who ensures that her students reach their full potential. She always has time for questions and strategically plans lessons and skills practice. She is honest, kind and fair.
As a whole key counselling training offers a wholesome curriculum that will give you extensive understanding and skills.

I have completed my level 3, 4 and the CBT diploma with Key. The courses are extremely in depth and thorough and will certainly test you along you way, but it is what will make you the best you can be. You will learn resilience and patience and my advice is to not take anything personally, go with the flow and appreciate the feedback you are given so you can learn from it. All my tutors have been fantastic. I have completed my course while working 3 days a week and having a young family as well as working my placement a day a week. It is hard due to level of work which is involved, but I did it so it is possible but go in with your eyes wide open and take a day at a time. I would not be the counsellor I am today had I not. I have spoke to many on other courses where there is no where near the level of work involved but I am grateful for this as it has enhanced my practice for sure and I am confident in my work.

Key Counselling Training is an excellent provider. I have found the tutors to be experienced and knowledgeable as well as supportive of students and their learning.

Course material is a great resource for students and the theory covered in class goes into great depth and detail to give us the knowledge we need to succeed.

Tutors support our autonomy with learning and developing our own skills whilst providing the necessary feedback for us to hone our skills.

I'd recommend Key Counselling to any aspiring counsellor.

Unfortunately, I had high expectations for the level 2 counselling course here at Key Counselling. However, after being taught by a previous level 4 student, it became quite clear that the standards of tutors were low and lacking in any form of professional teaching credentials.

After enduring many sexist and misogynistic comments, I was elated to be finished with the 10 week course.

The tutor was incredibly argumentative, unprofessional and to be quite blunt - rude.

The course supervisor provided unhelpful feedback and lacked the ability to support students - Not to mention her responses via email were painfully slow and rather vague.

The environment in which the in-person classes are taught, were unhygienic and poorly maintained. This included stained furniture, broken/flickering lights, fruit flies and foul odours permeating the room as it hadn’t been cleaned from previous weekend classes. Heating was also “too expensive” to turn on leaving students shivering.

The course structure was poorly set up, textbooks were badly written and some students were missing vital information from their textbooks. I was told the key counselling textbook was the only material I would require to complete the course, however this was found to be untrue. The “tutor” consistently contradicted the material given and quite frankly didn’t understand parts of the material when questioned. Roy was unfortunately not fit to teach this level 2 course.

It took an additional 4 months to receive my qualification and when I queried the delay with the Sian, the course supervisor, I was met with a incredibly nonchalant attitude.

Overall, it was an unpleasant experience and I wouldn’t recommend completing any levels with Key Counselling due to my previous experiences.

I am giving 5 stars to Key Counselling for the support, learning and belief from the tutors, supervisors and enabling growth in my journey. Without the support I wouldn't have achieved my own goal.

Sian, is very supportive and gave me all the workbooks, knowledge that I needed to learn.

She explained each theory and helped me put this into practice.
I would highly recommend Key Counselling Training to anyone looking to start there career as a counsellor. I had so much self doubt and through the belief of Key Counselling I have not looked back.
