I was extremely lucky to have Colleen as my counsellor. Colleen always listened, let me speak freely and showed some understanding. Colleen was always very calming and pleasant during our sessions. Colleen gave some great techniques to try to use to help some of my issues. Colleen gave me the confidence to speak up and use my voice in certain situations and gave me the push I needed to put myself first and prioritise me and my health. I would highly recommend Colleen, I will miss our sessions.

Colleen is an excellent counsellor/therapist. She was quick to build rapport, based on curiosity, warmth and honesty, enabling me to feel heard, and challenged when I needed that too. I felt comfortable to share, while retaining my own personal agency. She used some lovely metaphors to describe the concepts we were working with, and encouraged me to find and revisit my own. She has a lovely sense of humour, which was very welcome. She is highly skilled and experienced, using a blend of mindfulness and ACT, mostly, but this did not detract from the relationship, which I felt she put at the heart of our sessions. The tools and insights she offered were woven in naturally, and with encouragement, as was my “homework”, which felt invitational, rather than an obligation. Our sessions felt truly collaborative. Thank you, Colleen, for your support and kind presence over the past 6 months.

Colleen was brilliant. I have a diagnosis of cPTSD and ongoing depression. I have had counseling in the past but nothing has really helped. I felt stuck. Colleen quickly identified that EMDR might help and it did. I was sceptical at first but Colleen's kind and gentle approach took me through it. I feel like I have unstuck.

I would thoroughly recommend Colleen she really has changed my life. I am also still using my shipping container!

I was referred to Colleen through my works employee assistance programme. I had been struggling with work related stress, anxiety and overwhelm. This was my first time receiving counselling, and if I’m honest I found it really strange at first - but as you often hear people say “trust the process” and remain open minded.

Colleen is friendly, compassionate and made me feel relaxed and there is absolutely no judgement. I do admit at first that I was questioning what does she think of me, why is she asking me that, what is the purpose of this, with many other questions running through my mind. Only later did I realise (through therapy) that my constant questioning and overthinking may be down to my brain working differently to others.

We discussed various topics in our sessions such as boundaries, self esteem, self care, overwhelm, procrastination and I was given techniques to help offload thoughts from my busy mind.

I found it useful to talk about my worries and thought processes with someone impartial and I’m glad I got over my stubbornness of I don’t need ‘help’ or “I can deal with this myself” and my guilt of “there are people who need support much more than myself”, “I don’t want to waste peoples time”, “I just need to get a grip”.

Mid way through therapy, Colleen discussed with me (in a kind and professional way) that I would perhaps benefit in seeking an ADHD assessment. (Again, many questions going through my mind). I have however, now started the process, accept there is no shame in getting tested or being diagnosed and I shall see what comes of it.

Colleen, thank you for keeping up with me during our sessions with my many tangents and not always answering the question as I got distracted by another thought. (I can't keep up with myself at times!)

I’m reassured to know that I can contact you again if needed - BUT in the meantime I will continue to work on everything we discussed - THANK YOU!
