Headway has been the best medicine for my traumatic brain injury. I self-referred 4 months after the NHS diagnosed me with a TBI but did no follow up. Bob from Headway Thames Valley held
two one hour sessions with me just to help me understand what was going on with my brain and what to expect, which was incredibly helpful. I was then offered a place on a course for brain injury survivors which was not only close to where I live but turned out to be lifeline to the community I needed. The course helped me come to terms with living with a brain injury, accepting it and understanding it so much more. Amazing support from brilliant professionals. Thank you!

I was referred to Headway Thames Valley after having suffered a stroke in November last year. From the very start, the team there have been so supportive, understanding, and helpful for both me and my husband. I've attended an excellent course on how to live with brain injury, which helped, and continues to help, enormously. I've met other brain injury sufferers (not just from stroke) and having that contact allows us to support each other whilst understanding what each of us is going through. An invaluable charity and one I imagine I will stay in contact with for many years to come. Shout outs to Heather, Bob & Jamie (and of course Rachael for the introduction).

Headway is an amazing organisation and has helped me to navigate through my life after acquiring brain injury. The lessons I’ve learned through them about “Living with Brain Injury” helped me massively to cope with what I am now after my accident. I really enjoy the regular catch up we have. It’s so nice to be surrounded with people who truly understand what I’m going through. I’m super happy that I was referred to Headway immediately after I was discharged from the Oxford Rehabilitation Centre. Headway helped me a lot to see the brighter side on what happened to me and to continue living my life. Thanks a lot Headway Thames Valley.

I could not rate this charity highly enough. Whilst I realised in the early days of my brain injury that it was life changing, Headway understood everything I was going through, never once judged me but were always there to pick up the pieces.
Eight years on and I am now in a much better place, Headway and it’s amazing employees/volunteers must take a lot of credit for this.
If you have suffered a brain injury then do yourself a very big favour and make contact with Headway.

I suffered a stroke affecting my Left Arm and Leg back in April 2022 and was referred to Headway Thames Valley by my occupational therapist. Hilary ( from Headway Thames Valley) contacted me and arranged telephone contact from Bob Lampard. Bob asked me how my stroke had affected me and gave me some very useful information and I became part of a small group who chat on teams once a month. These chats are invaluable to my progress you can pick up on useful tips and it also makes you feel normal hearing that other people face the same challenges as you. They also referred me for physio at a concessionary rate, this has proved very useful with my well being and progress. Thank you so much Headway (Thames Valley)for everything.
