I started training with Russ's small group PT sessions at Evolve Lifestyle Academy, when he took on his new premises towards the end of 2024. I am still very new to strength training and need extra support during sessions, due to my mobility restrictions. Russ is an extremely experienced, knowledgeable and clever Coach. He has been so encouraging and supportive, adapting exercises where necessary and taking time to listen to me and to reassure me with any concerns.
He just gets and gets the best out of people.
As a result, I absolutely love coming to my sessions. I have never been as consistent with training as I am at Evolve. My sessions are a non negotiable. I've made strength and very noticeable body composition changes in such a short space of time, just by following Russ's nutrition and training plan.... And I'm post menopause! It's unbelievable really.
More recently, the fabulous Rebecca and Rob have joined the coaching team and they are just as brilliant.

Russ has created a very special community of like minded, supportive, committed people.

If you're thinking of giving it a try, don't hesitate. You will not regret it 😍

I recently joined Evolve about a month ago and it’s one of the best decisions I made!
I’ve never been very confident in my ability to exercise and push myself, but both Terri and Russ have really helped me and are both so lovely and supportive! I’m already feeling a lot better about myself both mentally and physically and I’m trying exercises that I never thought I would be able to do, and I’m actually enjoying exercising for the first time!

I’m looking forward to getting stronger and healthier and seeing what I can achieve! 😁💪🏻

Evolve was recommended to me by a friend and after trying the classes out I decided to sign up for PT’s. My main goal was to prevent injury when playing netball and to keep up with younger players. Russ tailored a programme specifically to what I would need to achieve this and made it fun. After only 4 weeks of training I could see massive gains in my ability on court and didn’t realise the health benefits I started to feel, hence while I’m still with Evolve. No injuries either while playing netball. Russ takes a real interest in you as a person and can make you achieve even when don’t feel like it. Classes are challenging, but come with plenty of banter and friendly faces.

I can't say enough how much I've enjoyed training with Terri Lee from Evolve, she's been my personal trainer for 5 months and I've made so much progress in my strength, attitude, form and stamina. Definitely recommend her and evolve to anyone a bit nervous about getting started or restarted at the gym. She's been so encouraging and really knows what she's talking about with health and fitness. Not to mention she's a damn good drill sergeant when you need one. I've lost weight steadily and safely, changed my overeating habits and I'm stronger than ever and it's down to Terri. I also really enjoyed the Evolve zoom classes they ran over lockdown, strength and conditioning classes were brilliant.

Evolve is a small but perfectly formed package.
Russell covers all aspects of fitness and wellbeing - training, nutrition, personal challenges, mentoring and friendship.
Extremely well qualified, he adapts training to personal needs.
Group classes are tough but always great fun, though his taste in music during training is questionable

Been using Russ for the past 5 or 6 years at his previous place of work so it was only natural for me to follow him to Evolve. Russ is very passionate about fitness and health and has the patience of a Saint to put up with me.

Great family feel to a personal or team goal orientated outfit. Members on their own personal journeys encourage and welcome new faces to be apart of a team that takes that one step further to test themselves. Old or young, rookies or tried and tested members can enjoy personalised plans to achieve their goals. I would recommend anyone to experience the layered objectives set out by the team that brings that important extra percent out of work outs. Evolve invests heavily in its members and it shows by people turning up week after week.
