I went to my doctor today after hiding behind “I’m fine” for months. It took every once of courage to even call them. She gave me the number for these guys who told me the assessment can’t be done till April why bother. Mental heath is a now issue. Not a 3 months away issue, no point calling. I’m back to square one. Dealing with it myself.

Last year I was seeing someone for my ptsd, which I told her that I couldn't go in to a city on my own. I haven't done so for many years and yet she wanted me to do so within a week. This sent me right downhill until I eventually saw someone else from somewhere else. I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone see these unless you want your mental health to be 10x worse than what it originally was

I have been placed with the best therapist I have had. I have used talking changes a few times and didn't feel there were enough sessions. My current therapist is easy to talk to, very sympathetic, and understanding. He goes out of his way to help me, and he is extremely knowledgeable and knows his stuff. I feel like I can talk to him and he looks for different tools to help me. He has never cancelled, and even when technology failed mid-session, he phoned me straight away till the computer was working again. The intense CBT has started to work and I have less days of feeling down. I feel so lucky to have been assigned to him. It did take 5-6 months to get the treatment, but I knew the lists were long.

Was a patient here a few months ago , I was reffered by my doctor and when they eventually got round to seeing me to have therapy they discharged me for no reason . Talking changes are an absolute joke of a service.

I had talking therapy twice and both experiences were positive and helpful.
Also i had cognitive behavioural therapy. A wonderful lady called Irene really helped me a lot and I couldn't thank her enough. Her guided process to help me understand and gain clarity was invaluable for me. She helped give me my life back.
Another lady I had spoken too suggested cognitive behavioural therapy. I would say it may take multiple attempts and by multiple people. Depending on the individual situation or circumstances that can be multifaceted and more complicated.
That doesn't mean that one attempt is enough or will work for everyone. You may need to keep trying and different therapy.
Thank you all to the team 🙋‍♂️💙🫂

Still waiting...I was referred as a result of seeing my GP back at the start of August. After a phone assessment we agreed on in person counselling. Here we are in a new year over 5 months later and all I've had are text messages saying they haven't forgotten me...not helpful at all.

I was put on a waiting list for weeks for them to give me an assessment. Then they decided what treatment to offer so I had to wait weeks more. Then I got 1 session where they decided I would be better off on another type of treatment so they put me back on the waiting list for more weeks. After about 3 months they rang to say I should book an appointment, so I rang 100 times and got no answer so they discharged me!🤣🤣🤣. If it wasn't for the 100s of letters they sent me in the post wasting paper it would have been hillarious.

I have been placed with the best therapist, her name is Jasmine. I feel so comfortable with her, so I am able to talk to her properly about all my traumas in my past.
