Each person I have met or spoken to has been polite, knowledgeable, so friendly and put me at ease. At no point have I been left unsure of what’s happening with my journey, instead next steps have always been given at the end of every session and emails and forms have been responded to promptly. I cannot praise the team and practitioners enough for making this journey as easy as possible.

I have just been released to a shared care agreement with my GP surgery, finalising my titration process for ADHD medication under the Right to Choose scheme.
The whole process has been easy and quick, and the treatment I've received has been brilliant. I've found that the waiting times given have always been significantly shorter than expected, with an assessment and diagnosis being attained ~3 months after initial referral, and medication started ~2 months after that at the time (referred Feb 24, assessment + diagnosis May 24, medication started July 24 )
I'd particularly like to applaud Marylyn Nathan-Wilson, who conducted the majority of my titration meetings. Her incredibly kind and friendly demeanour throughout the process, along with her commendable level of professionalism has made the process as easy and pleasant as possible.

Have recommended this route to many friends and would do to anyone considering!

Lisa especially has been so helpful and patient with me over the past few months, answering questions, chasing my referral for me. Was able to move my appointment to a later time with such short notice. I feel really comfortable with this clinic.

Sadly not the most positive experience of Dr J.

I went for a privately funded ADHD assessment at £395. Bear in mind I have to work 20 hours of my life to earn this money.

From the outset the communication was brief, not nearly explanatory enough and impersonal.

Once I had booked the assessment and completed the forms I then received repeated overly aggressive auto-emails to complete the same forms, for which I had I had to keep checking whether they had been received but still they kept coming.

The assessment itself was rushed, painfully so. The resulting report contains a few inaccuracies and misinterpretation of my answers.

The reports reads as though my diagnosis had already been made based on the information in the forms I completed and the assessment was in effect, a tick box exercise.

The agreed course of action on the day was further advice about treatment options but what was in the diagnostic report, received 6 weeks later, was that I was to be referred for medication titration. Something I was clear I was not sure about during the assessment discussion.

The titration team then costs a further £185 just to open up further discussion about the options available.

Worst of all was that something I specifically asked to remain confidential ended up in the report that would have been sent to my GP had I not intervened. An apology was however offered after my raising it.

This rushed and slightly careless approach made me feel very much like the primary interest for Dr J is financial not patient care. It does not fill me with confidence that moving forward with medication would be handled with care either.

I was given with a positive combined diagnosis in the report and on the day of the assessment. It was the most positive part of the assessment tbh, being told the outcome on the day.

The report contains some basic pointers such as diet and sleep routine, that some people may find useful but are very generic and can also be easily found on the internet. The report also contains some advice web-links to explore.

This assessment was a really big deal for me, as it is for anyone who suspects they might be living with this neurodiversity; as a result I feel quite badly let down.

I’m not sure any other provider would be any better, but as a 50 year old person coming to this assessment with a lot of life experience; and having my own very specific allied working experience within the NHS; this assessment experience could have been really damaging to my younger self.

I hope mine is not the common experience of assessment with Dr J and I also hope someone finds this useful to perhaps adjust expectations of the process and duty of care.

I went to them through the NHS 'right to chose' pathway for ASD and ADHD with the option for shared care with my GP and the potential for medication should that be appropriate. I had a wonderful experience with them. Communication was clear and occurred in a timely manner.
All my appointments were online - teams links were emailed to me weeks before the appointment in a format that allowed me to add them to my google calendar which was very helpful.
When I emailed them to check a few things, I received a response very quickly which answered my questions. Everyone I spoke to was helpful, kind and explained things well. I was given plenty of opportunity to ask questions and contact them between appointments if I needed to; either with more evidence I thought was relevant or to ask new questions I had. Any concerns I had were dealt with appropriately and professionally. I am so glad I chose them as my clinic for 'right to chose'. Would highly recommend.

Professional and reassuring professionals! Great service, highly recommend!!
I cannot express enough gratitude for Dr. J and the entire team who have truly transformed my experience in managing my ADHD. After a frustrating and disappointing encounter with another healthcare provider, I was left feeling lost and unsure of where to turn. Thankfully, I was referred to Dr. J and colleagues, who approached my case with the understanding, compassion, and thoroughness that I so desperately needed.

From the moment I met with Dr. J, and Colleagues I felt heard and validated. The use of the DIVA 5.0 diagnostic tool was a game-changer for me. Unlike the more rigid DSM-5 criteria that failed to capture the nuances of my condition, the DIVA 5.0 provided a detailed and realistic assessment that considered my personal experiences and real-life scenarios. This comprehensive approach led to a positive diagnosis, finally giving me the clarity and explanation I needed.

Coming to terms with my ADHD has been a profound relief, and it has brought so much understanding to many aspects of my life. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. J and Colleagues' team for their professionalism, reassurance, and commitment to patient care. They went above and beyond to ensure that I received the right diagnosis and the support I needed to move forward.

Not to forget the mention of the second important role in the process after diagnosis of the Prescribing Pharmacist A.S-K who was another reassuring and informative professional toward me.

I highly recommend Dr. J and colleagues to anyone seeking compassionate and thorough healthcare professionals. Their dedication to truly understanding their patients sets them apart, and I am forever thankful for the positive impact they have already had on my life.

Couldn't have asked for more wonderful or more understanding people (I spoke with Dr Khan and Laura Jackson), such an easy and straightforward process, and much less stressful then I was expecting the process to be. Thank you so much.
