Just got out from the dova unit yesterday after a month on the ward ii was struggling quite a bit with number of things and every member of staff went out of there way number of time to make sure I was alright and spent a lot of time with me even though they was short staffed I've been to number of hospitals in the past but this one is the only one I felt comfortable talking to staff I am more the great full for how they was with me especially jess, kayleigh, Michelle, and the other staff I just can't explain enough what these people have done to help me it's ashame the doctors there don't spend time on the ward see hear what these staff do the staff don't get enough recognition or praise and thanks for all the work and effort they put in with the patients they go above and beyond to help make you feel at ease safe and secure not only while there but once you leave alot of people do not see what they actually have to put up with by poorly patients and no grudge held and still very understanding and treat u like human beings and not just another number like the doctors class us as its a shame the doctors there don't listen to what these nurses say as there the ones dealing with us patients and doctors only see us once a week for shirt time and the doctors don't always catch us at our worse I've been under mental health since a Child I'm now nearly 40 year old and the system has always failed me and never put proppa things in place but I gotta say the staff here done more in a moth then a life time crap from doctors thankyou so so much to the staff ill never forget how great u was with me

This place is run by loons and needs to be shut down immediately. We need a mental health service who actually cares about the patients and listens to the patient and next of kin. The staff and doctor make decisions without any input from the patients next of kin or close family. They will lie to you so you don't attend meetings and avoid the patients next of kin at all costs. They have put my relatives life at risk by doing this for the past four weeks by avoiding the family. Their decisions are based on biased and one sided views from people who don't even know the patient at all and who the patient did not even contact! My relative is moving in two days and the manager tells you to ring back for further information and then goes on annual leave. The nurse tells you at the meeting they will keep you informed of where my relative will be doing the rehabilitation and when you ring them they say that you have to find the rehabilitation place yourself!! They don't tell you anything. They are just liars and don't give a toss about my relative. The staff and doctor on Dova ward are big liars too and dodgy. The sooner this place is shut down the better.

This is the worst place for a mental patient and family are traumatised just visiting the patient. They don't care about covid and don't tell you when you visit that covid is on the ward until you actually get inside the ward! I was ill for days. Luckily I survived the contact. Staff are dodgy and lie about the patient and meetings. The mental patient is ignored and just left to suffer. Rarely taken out and still stuck here when supposed to be moved in June 2022. Severe and acute are mixed on the same ward which is no good. One patient tried to kick down the hospital door and I was worried about the safety of my relative. The place is like a zoo and I had to take my son to the south lakes zoo which was nice because visiting our relative at Dova ward is a nightmare!

Worst treatment I've ever received that is what little help was actually offered. Only for them to walk it all back just 2 days later after not bothering to follow up with me the following day like I was told they would. This is after being out right rude and disrespectful when we were discussing my reasons for establishing contact in the first place & making me feel worst than if I simply hadn't bothered in the first place & bearing in mind all this was because I was admitted to A&E after self harming & stabbing Myself

Disgusting place. Karen management would be better suited to running a slaughterhouse. No people skills, no care, no sensitivity for grave concerns about my friends welfare, no sharing of information so not even aware I had written a complaint to the trust. To call themselves a care provider is a sick joke. My friend was told he was wasting their time and was left in a dressing gown at 4am to wander round the streets of Barrow at serious risk of suicide. Not once but twice and in winter. They have blood on their hands and are EVIL

Assaulted while staff looked on and did nothing, denied medical treatment after assault. Discharged from the ward within 12 hours after the assault with a deviated septum and a fractured hip , told after 12 years of mental health issues , that 5 days in there care I had no sign of mental illness . Gaslighting masterclass . Do not go there you will regret it

I went in for an assessment which was about an hour long, staff (including reception) felt very welcoming and approachable seemed to really care and appeared genuinely invested in my wellbeing despite it being the first and only time I've seen them. Was hesitant after reading some of the other reviews on here but they were nothing like my personal experience and I would recommend Lee to anyone.

My mum has been in twice and each time has proved that the staff and level of care are outstanding. Staff are so kind, caring and patient and the communication has been amazing. Can't thank them enough.
