i saw her sister in the cornerstone, on the phone to the middleman. when i saw that she was on her own, i thought that she might understand. she was close, well she couldn’t get much closer. then she said ‘i’m really not supposed to, but yes you can call me anything you want.’

When i went to Cornerstone i had my sessions with a man called Steve. He was amazing, i could not praise him enough for the help he gave me. I was in a bad place when i started, and was instantly made to feel comfortable and listened too. He genuinely cared, listened and never judged me. I could mention something in passing in one session, and maybe 2 months later he would bring it up if he felt appropriate, and we would discuss it. That to me felt amazing as it made me feel that he listened to everything i said and understood it and would join the dots to come up with a solution on how to deal with the many little issue together. I would highly recommend Cornerstone if you are in need of help or if you just need someone to listen and to advise. Now i am much happier and have the means to deal with my issues head on. Thank you so very much

Making the first appointment was easy and all sorted out by email. When you get there, the space is very peaceful and relaxed. The staff have all been welcoming and friendly. I very quickly felt at ease with Mia and she has been very approachable and easy to talk to. This service has really helped me.

I had an exceptionally positive experience with James Turner during my time at Cornerstone. I was made to feel very comfortable and able to discuss my issues at a pace that suited me. It was easy to make and amend appointments and I found it a serene place to be.

Really welcoming and helpful counselling service. I've had two counsellors from Cornerstone - I had to stop sessions with the first as she was in such high demand, but Cornerstone assigned me someone else (who is also excellent) really quickly and efficiently. I've found it really helpful in building my self-esteem and resilience against anxiety and depression - highly recommended.

Complete rip off! Charged £60 to tell my story and be told there is not enough time to help me before I leave (I am travelling to Australia in 4 weeks). I had made this information known to the receptionist when I enquired about the appointment and she said she had spoken with the therapist and this time frame would be fine. I have dealt with many organisations of this type over the years and have never been so disgusted. I would never have came if I knew my £60 was going to be spent on me telling my story with no return help, won't be back and I would encourage others to look elsewhere!

Made to feel uncomfortable about a sliding scale on fees as therapist needs to think about overheads, despite explaining personal financial challenges. Reluctance in lowering this despite most therapists open to the idea - or at least able to handle with more empathy. Very pushy about another appointment and booking one in. Have since gone elsewhere.

It took a litany of emails and fone calls before I was eventually offered an appointment with a CBT therapist. 2 things happened. 1. I came out of the first session feeling far worse than when I had gone in. 2. The fee burnt a considerable hole in my pocket. Boy, it was all such doom and gloom. The bloke I had the session with was also so condescending it was unreal. What a waste of my dosh. I was made to feel about an inch high. I really wish I hadn't bothered. I won't do so again. I've gone for CBT via my employer. It is so much more uplifting and helpful.
