Waste of time, stringing patients along and not providing any real help. Don't bother with them.

Edit: Since Google is filtering my longer review for no apparent reason I'll summarise.
The cpn only turned up to 3 of 5 appointments. She was late at least 2 of those appointments. Each one was a waste of time, I should have been provided with a form to fill in so I could have a "formulation" to decide on an appropriate treatment plan but haven't received it, in spite of my asking twice.
For context, if I had filled in the form in November it would have been January or February before getting a formulation, then even longer to decide on a treatment, and then however long that waiting list for treatment would be.

They've also gone behind my back, disrespected my wishes, ignored the most important point on my "do's and don'ts" list which was to KEEP ME INFORMED.

They've not contacted me since just not turning up to my appointment over a month ago (no explanation), even though I called twice and they said they'd get back to me and send the form to fill in. My GP requested an urgent review from them weeks ago and we've still heard nothing back.

been through a lot of MH services and none of them are good, they’re all underfunded, badly managed and understaffed with an increasing patient load on top. But Merrick House is definitely at the bottom of this pile of failure and apathy. How is anyone with mental disabilities expected to get better when the treatment just isn’t there, when the “service providers” provide nothing but more stress, anxiety, mistrust and misery?

Don’t bother with Merrick House, they aren’t worth anyone’s time.

Shambles of a place has not replied to me in weeks. They said i could message one of their mobiles at the place if i needed a chat or any information. No reply whatsoever. Since near end of dec 2024. Tried again, no response. Tried again today with another email. Lets see how this goes. How is this place still open? 😬 yikes.

Got transferred over to this place after moving to peterlee in 2023. Only thing i have recieved is a half arsed welcome letter and the same letter printed out again so i can be helped for moving out of peterlee. I have asked everytime i called when is my next phone call. I never get told. Never even had a physical appointment since transferring. Also the time i had a mental health breakdown this year due to personal circumstances, I called them and they were closed to do a course. The idiots should email people to let them know when they will be closed. 9-5 monday to friday, is not acceptable. Should be open 7 days a week. Sick of being let down.

Edit: been trying to get in contact with them. Had luck but i called on a tues to see when i am getting a call. No notes were found about this call. They sent an email to someone and waited almost 48 hours and called again. Got told someone will be in contact. Had a call from a private number.......twice. not being funny lots of "scammers" use private number technique to get you to answer. I told them by email is fine just wanted to know when my next call was. Bear on mind i have had no suppot phone calls from these guys just general query calls.

I just don't understand why it's so hard for you guys to help me? Why do I get told I have an appointment, only for it to be double booked? Why do I get discharged for appointments that were never even made aware of, or for "uncooperative behaviour" when I ask for better rights for the mentally ill? Why does my partner's car get damaged when I speak up about an abusive worker? Why do I get told I'm emotionally unstable when I clearly have adhd and autism? Why do I have to repeatedly ring up PALS and cry to them about the neglect I receive from you guys? Why do I have to wait 4 years and more for my proper diagnosis? Why do I keep being let down by YOUR workers? Why am I not getting any help and why is my mental health declining under YOUR service? I ask for better rights, I ask for better help for the mentally ill, I ask for this to start now, because we need change. I'm sick of not being called back, checked up on, spoken to with respect, and forgotten about! If you keep doing this to people, you will only see an influx in attempts.

Very poor care here why the hell is this place still open? My son gets told the same thing over n over again and after nearly two years he’s still not on adhd medication all due to these people going on holiday !! Two relapses later and the crisis team coming out he’s still not sorted this place is a disgrace to the nhs mental health system , does anyone out there know who I can complain to? I’d be so grateful someone needs to do something here and make people aware of what is going on here cuz it’s definitely not helping with mental health !!

They seem very limited in the services they can give and rely on one-size-fits all treatment methods which have left me feeling worse. Also very unaccomadating of neurodivergent conditions and will make out its a personal failure if your disability prevents you from attending or benefiting from group CBT sessions and then refuse to help you further. I understand mental health services are undefunded but there's no excuse for the lack of understanding and empathy for those they're supposed to be helping.

Well iv had I don’t know how many workers one I felt I was her worker as knew everything about her even down to her problems with alcohol and then spoke about other service users, I am supposed to have weekly visits iv seen mine once in 13 weeks, and she’s also my social worker and she saying if I get a different one I can no longer be under them, I need an occupational therapist to come out and they supposed to be arranging that, this was supposed to be done months ago as I’m living in a house dangerous to my health, but I just wish I could get the help I need,x

Only had an initial appointment and they still fail to send my letter that should have been with me nearly 2 month ago failed to send out another appointment letter and a form

Once again, let down by the service of merrick house. Care coordinator unavailable again, message left in the morning but low and behold they are finished for the day (14.00) and no response from them.
I think they believe mental health is a 9 till 5 problem Monday to Friday and the weekend doesn't count. So frustrated I could scream. Time for action i think.
Totally Dismayed.
