What a fantastic team of people. I can't thank them enough for looking after me so well during my day surgical procedure. Kind, caring and professional throughout. They made a scary experience the very best it could be. The Chedworth Suite is smart and clean and seemed to have everything necessary.
Thank you all.

Small cozy cottage hospital. Sad that they do not have a children's in-patients unit or an ED that caters to kids and so children have to go all the way to Gloucester for specialist medical care. Service is good. Ample parking space available close by.

I hear your frustration. It sounds like you’ve had two very disappointing experiences at Cheltenham General Hospital, and you feel the quality of care there does not reflect either the reputation of Cheltenham as a town or the contributions you’ve made locally. From what you’ve written, there are a few key points you’re raising:
• Service quality: You felt the hospital did not meet even the most basic expectations of service and delivery.
• Value for money: Even though the NHS is publicly funded, you feel your contributions (through taxes and as a business owner) should be reflected in better standards of care.
• Staff professionalism: You feel that some staff were not polite, not delivering care in the right manner, and that language barriers affected communication and treatment.
• Expectations vs. reality: Cheltenham as a town is vibrant and high-quality, but you feel the hospital doesn’t match that standard, leaving you questioning your decision to invest in the area.

A terrible experience at Cheltenham General. Staff were almost beyond caring. Why did you bother coming so soon!!
You should have waited until tomorrow morning.

Yes its Saturday evening and believe me i don't want to be sat in the hospital.

I had an ankle operation performed by an orthopaedic surgeon yesterday and all went smoothly.in the evening after I was discharged, I noticed excessive through the dressing and the boot liner. I ended up back in orthopaedics and trauma outpatients the next day (today) and had the pleasure of being looked after by Begonia. A true professional. She was knowledgeable, friendly, empathetic, efficient, helpful and any other positive words I can think of. She “signposted” what she was doing next and this kept me composed.

Clearly a credit to the NHS.

Terrible service their telephone contact service needs improvement greatly. Just spent 2 x 40 mins trying to get through to the EMERGENCY EYE department only to be cut off both times at the number 1 status.

From the moment I arrived, I felt at ease and confident in the care I received. The facilities were clean, modern, and well-maintained. I'm grateful for the excellent treatment and would highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking top-notch medical care.

Most of my experiences at the General are disastrous, but five stars goes to Radiology 1 and a wonderful young lady by the name of Laura. Extremely helpful and cheerful, highly professional, and a credit to both the hospital and her parents. Truly efficient. Give her a medal and a well-deserved pay rise. I only hope that she runs the department (or the whole hospital) one day. Thank you, Laura! 👍

Months later, and I finally met Laura again. She's just as wonderful as I remember!
