Stayed at Carrington Lodge, Milford-on-Sea. A lovely quiet location, no more than a 5 minute walk to the sea. Well furnished and welcoming. The fridge had milk, butter and a bottle of Prosecco. Fresh bread and biscuits also left in the kitchen. A nice touch. Secluded and private garden, perfect for dozing in the sunshine or an afternoon reading. Highly recommend and will definitely return. We took our Bengal cat, Arthur, with us. He loves adventures and would be very happy back at the cottage!

I have been using Boutique Retreats for the past two years, either for short-term trips or longer work trips or holidays and couldn't ask for a better service! The retreats are great and luxurious, and every communication with them is excellent, super friendly and quick. I can not recommend them highly enough and will be sticking with them for any future stays. Keep up the great work!

We used Boutique Retreats for our summer holiday (2022) and can't fault them. Their communication and customer service was first rate and they couldn't have been more helpful. We stayed in Chantry Cottage in the Cotswolds and were blown away by this property; stunning, secluded and full of character and history! It was well equipped, beautifully styled, decorated and maintained, and the owner was really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended in all aspects, thank you.

Absolutely loved the Cyder Barn cottage for our mini-moon! Felt like a home away from home and it created the most wonderful, romantic atmosphere for us. The location was idyllic, which meant we could be isolated from the world, but also were not too far to explore Truro and nearby seaside. Fantastic hosts, beautiful welcome basket and quick response to any questions we had. Would definitely come back again!

We stayed at Smugglers in Cornwall, booked via boutique retreats.
I left a review with boutique retreats, though naturally they only published the glowing parts, which most of it was.

There was one negative at the bottom which didn’t make its way into my review on their website which was to highlight the terrible access road that you really should be aware of if going to this property as it could present a real problem and even damage the underside of your car if not tackled correctly.
The website does warn you that there’s 400m of rough farm track but I don’t think it goes far enough, it’s not just a little bumpy, some of it is almost impassable in your average vehicle and we were forced onto the grassy bank to get round the craters in the road. An excellent property once there but it’s fair to warn you what to expect. Take the access road extremely carefully, as in 2-3mph careful if you don’t want to damage your car.

Full review is:

Great for peace and seclusion. The location of smugglers is perfect if you want peace and quiet and access to the great outdoors.
The uninterrupted views across Bodmin Moor are impressive and we enjoyed watching the wildlife which included lambs, ponies, swifts and buzzards.

The cabin itself is tastefully decorated and well equipped with things like board games, jigsaw puzzles, binoculars and a telescope. The kitchen is also well equipped.

Bed was comfy and the bathroom was particularly impressive - lovely double bath and spacious rainfall shower, kept cosy with the underfloor heating.

Everything was cleaned to a high standard throughout.

We found this a good base location for walking and for visiting the surrounding areas with many of the coastal towns just a short drive away.

But speaking of the drive, the access road leading up to it is terrible, there’s about 400 meters of very rough track that you couldn’t call a road, prepare to have to drive 2-3mph unless you have an SUV or the like, but for your average car, you have been warned!

On the whole, a lovely place with great views, we had a thoroughly relaxing break despite bad weather.

Recently stayed at The Honeysuckle Cottage in the Cotswolds. The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend! Booking, check-in and checkout were all seamless. Would highly recommend both Boutique Retreats and the cottage.
