I do feel that Karen and her support saved my life. The sudden loss of my husband absolutely crushed me. I had no idea who i was and even if I wanted to continue life without him. But I knew needed to stay alive for my sons, so I went in search of other widows and found Karen. Her podcasts were my first lifeline, and nearly 18 months later I still find great comfort in them. Within weeks I was inspired to not just survive, but figure out how to LIVE. As Karen teaches, I didn’t know how I was going to live, “but I was going to figure it out”.

Karen’s coaching, focus on the reality of life as a widow, compassion, and even just her soothing and pleasant manner (yes, even when she’s admitting to having a bad day) has been my lifeline, my source of hope, and my inspiration.

Participating in her groups (Finding Hope, Awakening Hope, and Re-member) has taught me SO much about life as a widow, but more importantly they’ve given me more of a sense of self and understanding of myself than I have ever had. I’m putting myself first and learning about myself and I am learning to not feel bad about that. I’m feeling more fulfilled in my life than I’ve felt in a long time. And it’s all due to fully embracing Karen’s coaching lessons. She’s a life saver!

I have just completed my year with Finding Hope In Widowhood and it has been such a great help, I highly recommend it. When I began last year I was looking for someone to help me find a way forward in the face of the profound grief I was feeling after losing my husband the prior year. She would bring up topics l’d heard about before like self-care, but she would have some good advice and new ways of looking at it that really helped. Thank goodness I found Karen on social media about 6 months after my husband died. Her positivity and kindness has helped me enormously to move through my profound grief. I'm really not sure how I would have come as far as I have if I hadn't stumbled across the Facebook group. I found it so helpful that I joined the re-member group and now plan to join her finding hope in widowhood. I always leave the zoom meetings feeling lighter and ready to face the next day. When I lost my husband, I knew early in my grief that I needed to connect with other widows. I found Karen's Facebook group, Widowed and Rising, and the name immediately drew me in because I want to rise, not wallow in my grief. That is what Karen focuses on: acknowledging grief, but using a positive mindset to rise with it. To move forward as you become a new you after the loss of your life partner. Karen's videos and chats are so helpful that I joined her Re-member group for the Zoom sessions that she leads with such compassion and skill and wisdom. Her podcasts are amazing. Karen uses technology in multiple ways to reach widows all over the world. I live in the USA. Being in Zoom sessions with women from all corners of the world makes one realize that the phenomenon of widowhood is universal. Karen asks the right questions and steers her groups with skill and kindness. Her podcasts and videos are full of nuggets to put in one's toolbox to help on this journey.
