Polly Woodfine is well versed in Myofuctional therapy which is an integral part of addressing speech and language issues. She also invests a lot of time and effort into new areas of self development and research work which gives you access to areas of therapeutic intervention you would never have exposure to via NHS treatment. She's friendly and has an amazing way with children. Her team members are efficient and Polly is passionate about her line of work. You will not be disappointed.

Polly has been really incredible with our son. She immediately understood his learning style and made the sessions fun. We have seen several therapists and Polly was the only one to really understand the root causes of his speech sound challenges and address them by engaging other experts in the different fields where needed.

Myofunctional assessment is a new and growing field in the dentistry/speech and language/oral part of the body (sorry I am not a doctor), all I know is that, many of the questions that I have been trying to answer was answered by Polly..
Alas, this was the missing puzzle to all of the assessments related to my son's speech and language development.
First of all, I think responding to new customers in a sincere way goes a long way.. and when I even complained about the distance from our house to Polly, she went over and beyond to recommend other specialists near me who might be able to help me.. Without much luck, I decided to brave the distance from SW London to Amersham and honestly, this was the best decision I made in solving the puzzle and maze of my son's tongue issues. Polly was very thorough, extremely helpful and the reports she provided was easy to understand with supporting literature and research (I really loved reading them 🙂 and specialist doctors to help with my son's tongue tie division.
We are now working with Polly to help us with myofunctional therapies to help my son's oral muscles function as they should. It's a long journey, but I am so glad we found you..

I could not recommend Polly highly enough. When we first started speech therapy with Polly my son would rarely speak to anyone outside of our family because he would not be understood. He will now happily chat to people. The change in his confidence has been wonderful to see and this is all thanks to the great speech therapy. Polly’s approach has always been individualised and holistic and she is quick to recognise when Dexter needs a change in technique or a break. Polly always finishes our sessions with a clear, written plan of exercises for us to continue at home and is always quick to respond if I have any questions later. Dexter often comes away from sessions saying how much fun he’s had and always looks forward to his next one. He is making great progress and having fun at the same time- we couldn’t ask for more!

Upon our son starting EYFS ( reception ), we realised that due to not attending nursery before hand as much as normal, largely due to covid, he was behind in his speech.
After seeking alternative help and failing it was suggested that we try Polly and thankfully, it came to fruition.
Our son had quite a vocabulary but unfortunately it was the formulation of sentences and structure that were not coming easily to him.
Through the methods that Polly implemented from the outset, he soon began to include joining words that were missing and putting more emphasis on creating a full sentence. As any child likes to play, so does our son, and Polly used this to help him create the sentences using characters and vehicles which was amazing, and easy for us to replicate at home with him so the learning didn’t stop.
He has come a long way since starting sessions with Polly and we look forward to continuing this year, and so will he!!
