I would never have thought that just one hypnotherapy session with Hannah (1 Life Hypnotherapy, Portsmouth) would have such a transformative impact.
I have had a phobia of swimming since the age of 10 after having a near drowning experience. Over the years I have tried to learn to swim numerous times without any progress whilst increasing my anxiety with each attempt. Hannah has a healing gift that some might say is magic. My biggest challenge has always been smoking and lack of self love and libido. I did recent work with Hannah online as I am based in Spain. After the first session I continued to smoke for 3 days and somehow didn't want to pick up another cigarette. I look forward to doing more sessions to be able to create my own magic again. I went to 1 Life Hypnotherapy seeking help with a manifestation of anxiety, Dermatillomania - a compulsive skin picking disorder. When I am stressed or anxious I pick the skin around my thumbs until it bleeds. At my first session Hannah made me feel really relaxed. I was able to talk about the roots of my anxieties and could do so without judgement and without shame. Hannah was confident that, if I were open to the process, embraced the session and the holistic practices she recommended, I would be able to recognise my triggers and follow the steps to break the obsessive cycle.
We agreed a plan and at my next session started the hypnotherapy. I felt completely safe and at ease, Hannah’s voice was calming and her instructions were delivered with insight and clarity. After the sessions I felt emotionally lighter, relaxed and positive that I could tackle the issue. The compulsion to pick my skin has reduced and I now have a tool kit to use when my anxiety increases and the urge to pick returns.
