I think this charity is fantastic and they have my full support having fundraised for them in the past and I completely understand how difficult it is at the moment. This being said, my experience of contacting them was quite upsetting. The lady who answered my phone call was rather rude and stand off-ish and didn't make me feel welcome. I also spoke to the counsellor who is related to this centre and I felt a similar way. Again, I completely understand how difficult it is at the moment but when considering how the centre is meant to be supportive to those who are ill, I'm sure the attitude isn't appreciated. I will say that I have had positive experiences with the volunteer organiser in the past so I am sure this situation was just an exception.

I only feel the need to leave a review as I was enquiring about counselling and I can imagine that those in a worse position than myself will have struggled with this situation a lot more than I have.

Volunteer staff in the reception area of the shop and cafe should not be patronising towards visitors in the first instance perhaps then problems will not arise and escalate like they did
The snappily said comment of " I'm only doing my job " towards a visitor was totally unwarranted and unnecessary as the visitor had given a reasonable response for not doing as requested and then the visitor to be approached by another member of staff ( who I believe was management ) and questioned afterwards for not wearing a mask (which is not a legal requirement) was even more offensive
